Fragrance side

Cypress essential oil has aromatic facets reminiscent of laurel, as well as distinctive pine notes, so it is often found in heart notes of colognes or aromatic fougères. It works perfectly with dry, cedary woods, giving them a unique, fresh character.

Expectorant, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious. Soothes, channels, restores structure to bring thoughts back to basics.

Originally from Asia Minor, cypress spread throughout the Mediterranean basin to the point of becoming its emblematic tree. This conifer can reach 30 meters in height, with a lifespan of several hundred years. The branches are numerous and grow compactly together, giving the tree a tapered, candle-like shape.
The cypress is the symbol of immortality in the West. It acts as a guardian of cemeteries, protecting the souls of the deceased. In Iran, every prestigious building was surrounded by cypress, veritable sentinels for each site. It is the Iranian tree of heaven, with a shape that reaches toward the skies, seen as access to the divine.
Greek mythology tells many stories involving the cypress, but the bestknown is that of Cyparissus. Mad with grief after killing his favorite stag by mistake, Cyparissus killed himself. Apollo then turned the young man into an eternal tree that has since borne his name (kyparissos means cypress in ancient Greek).

Naturally present in hedges, gardens and field borders to promote biodiversity and crop protection, cypress pruning is enhanced through the harvesting of branches for essential oil production.
